Provide Imagery Documentation

Provide Imagery Documentation

Creating your model is easy and simple. To start your project, we need images and photos of your future model. They can be architectural or design drawings or simply photos of each side of the model including the top. For example, if a bus, then we need images of all four sides and the roof. The more photos you can provide the better detail we can add.

Gather Design Aids and Resources

The next step is to gather your design aids and resources. Let us know your Pantone (PMS) colours, provide an EPS or high-resolution JPEG of your logos and any supporting image you would like included on the outside of the flat paper area. Let us know any specific fonts required to be used. You can also supply the supporting text in MSWord.

Designing

Designing

This is the stage the magic begins. We will assess the model, work out how best it can be captured in model format, and then start planning the die cut. We will aim to capture the true shape of your model as best as possible, however, sometimes we need to make some allowances for what the paper can and can’t do. Also, we normally don’t print double-sided on models as there are production process issues, so we carefully plan how best we can have all exterior surfaces visible. We send you either digital images or hard copies to review of this stage. This stage can take up to two weeks depending on the intricacy of the model.

Digital Development

Once we have the die and shape locked in we go to work to recreate the model artwork. We use a variety of shades, colours and gradients to add shape and contour to the models. This is the stage also that we need all design aids and resources by to ensure we maximise the largest possible model possible on either A4, A3 or alternate paper sizes. We send you either digital proofs or hard copy proofs via snail mail to review of this stage. There is an allowance 1 to 2 weeks for producing the artwork and getting client approvals of this stage. Once the artwork and model artwork is approved we move to production.

Production

We use a variety of print suppliers locally and around Australia to produce our models. We have worked closely with our print suppliers for many years to ensure they work closely with us to deliver the best possible print outcome for the models. The print process can vary but under normal circumstances please allow 2 to 3 weeks for printing and delivery.

Proofing

Sample models will be sent to you at the end of the modelling and artwork process for proofing. One set of proofs for the general artwork and layout. One set of working prototypes for your review.

Print Options

We have a large range of printing options available. Depending on your use, we can arrange for the following print results: Heavy Paper/Cardboard – great for giveaways, kids showbags, promotional events and so on. Plastic/PVC – we can provide your models in plastic, pvc or other long-lasting plastic coated board. Foam and waterproof printing – If you are looking for an actual flying plane or floating boat, we produce model aircraft and boats that can be used by kids for hours of enjoyment outside in the open or in a swimming pool or the boat. For most models, please allow in your planning two to four weeks for design and testing, sample models will be sent to you at the end of the process for proofing. Printing and cutting takes one to two weeks depending on the quantities ordered. Once you are happy with your model and written approval has been given to proceed to print, we will finalise the model artwork and send to print.
